I got really excited about this so had to share it (little things please little minds!)

My children love mashed potato but I really struggle to make it. I have bought nearly every type of potato masher on the market (we have a draw full) but I still struggled. When I was chatting to a friend the other day she said she used her electric hand mixer to make mashed potato.

I was a bit dubious but last night my parents were coming for tea and I had lots of sausages to use up so decided it had to be 'bangers & mash' but as my wrists are really bad at the moment the only choice was to try the electric mixer trick.

It was brilliant. The smoothest mashed potato with no effort. I will definitely be using this method in future (all the mashers will be going to a charity shop) .

I'm probably teaching Grandmothers to suck eggs but I had to share it in case there was anyone else struggling like me.

Sorry I got so excited over such a simple thing as mashed potato but it had been getting me down a bit - not being able to such a simple thing as make my children mashed potato. In the end the solution was so easy and already sitting in my kitchen draw.

That's a good idea Becky. I have given up on mashing and get someone else to do it for me now.
